Welcome to the Town of Edlintium!
Edlintium is a small town that sits on the edge of a deep forest known as the Darkwood. This sleepy town on the edge of the world has played host to many legends and a veritable library of lore. Locals tell stories of lost artifacts, ancient cults, and many a creature known to go bump in the night. Throughout the ages it’s become harder and harder to separate fact from fiction and as the fogs of Fall settle in on Edlintium it looks like this year will be another strange tale for the lore masters.
The Locals
Ahead is a guide of some of the more colorful characters you may encounter in town.
The Merchant
You’ll often find this shady huckster pushing his wares on unsuspecting shoppers near the info booth. Whispers in town say that he travels the Darkwood at night recovering the belongings of those lost to the darkness of the deep woods. Some say he even stocks artifacts of great power and will may trade them so long as he gets the best end of the deal. Others claim he's harmless and even a good source of odd jobs to turn a profit now and then. Just be on your guard when dealing with him, if you play your cards right you could walk away with items of great power, play them wrong and you may not walk away at all.
The Custodian
A doddering old fool whose mind is more legend than sense these days. Once a librarian at a great institution of higher learning but now he’s more known for ranting and raving about ill omens and dark tidings. He lives on the edge of the Darkwood near the trails that some claim are haunted. Rumors say that despite not playing with a full deck he is actually capable of old magics and has become the keeper of dark artifacts earning him the title of Custodian. If there's any truth to this it may explain the degradation of his mind over the years. Recently he was seen seeking help with stopping whatever disaster he’s convinced himself is coming.
The Carney
This wild card recently rolled into town and set up shop near the old stage. He’s been providing what he claims to be games of skill and chance but his chaotic nature makes him a bit hard to trust. Reports tell of him having some underhanded dealings with the merchant. If you’re going to play his games, keep your eyes open or your trip to the carnival could leave you out of luck forever.
The Witch
An absolute terror that resides deep in the Darkwood. Connected to the old world through abyssal magics she is far more than just a local legend. Stories say that she was connected to the ancient raven cult that once filled the Darkwood. Others say she takes those lost and sacrifices them to appease dark spirits. One thing is certain: stay away from her and all her minions. The Darkwood is no place for travelers who wish to stay out of harm's way. Be especially careful near the edges of town. She was seen relishing in the destruction after the recent storm and muttering about bringing silence and darkness to the town.
Townies and Travelers:
Many folks wander into town this time of year and not all are lost to the Darkwood. Some even stick around. Keep your eyes out for other Travelers(Players) and Townies(Staff) as you travel throughout the town. After all strong connections and cooperation can you through the darkest tales

The Custodian
Seek out the Custodian. He’s testing travelers and looking for those bold enough to be trusted with a supposed quest! It seems nonsense but he has been right before.
Interact with with the locals above and with fellow travelers will surely lead to an experience you won't soon forget
The Merchant
The Merchant is known for dealing in the strange and occult. Whispers in town say he’s looking for some help recovering an artifact from the Darkwood. It could be worth your time to check with him about his struggles.
TRIALS
Tests of Skill, Bravery, And Knowledge to earn more cards
The Journey
Travelers (players) visit the Custodian to start their quest. The Custodian explains enough of what’s happening to get them started and points them toward the haunted house to see what they’re up against. This is a test of their bravery to see if they are strong enough to be sent on the quest.
The Deal
The Merchant will make a deal with you to complete your set if you have extra cards to trade.

You can trade any 2 collectible cards to him to get a card of your choice from the Deck of Destinies.
The Heist
Complete the merchant’s quest to steal an artifact back that he sold to the witches. Includes going through the haunted house again and stealing a storm themed wooden disk from their stage and returning it to him for more cards.
